I am broadly interested in a spectrum of geochemical processes. My current research goal is to figure out where helium is hosted in mantle peridotites from the Twin Sisters Ultramafic complex. I combine ultra-high vacuum mass spectrometry with petrological observations to decouple helium concentrations and isotopic signatures from inclusions, crystal lattices, and grain boundaries. Findings will have strong implications for the behavior of helium in the mantle. I also contribute to an endeavor aimed at explaining conditions associated with magnesite formation in an ultramafic depositional environment in Australia (possibly analogous to Mars) and develop software for MELTS.
